DeMichele Group Founder Don DeMichele Passes Away

Don DeMichele, founder of the DeMichele Group, passed away on June 18, at the age of 75.

DeMichele founded the company in 1977 to develop software for the flat glass industry. In 1984, he created Red Mountain Research Laboratory to provide microcomputer-based software for the contract glazing market, according information provided by DeMichele Group.

In addition to his work in the industry, DeMichele served as an associate professor of industrial engineering and as the head of the Biosystems Research Group at Texas A&M University for 11 years prior to founding the DeMichele Group.
DeMichele is survived by two daughters, Lisa Hefner and Maria Jacobs, and five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Kathryn, Jake and Olivia.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Mariposa Gardens in Mesa, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Kay's Scholarship Fund, c/o Arizona Community Foundation, at 2201 E. Camelback Rd. #405B, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
