Environmental Council Planning for Hurricane Symposium, Calling
for Abstracts
The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), through its
Building Enclosure Technology and Environmental Council (BETEC)
is in the planning stage of its Building For Hurricanes Symposium,
scheduled for the end of November.
Abstracts and biographies are due by March 15, 2006 and the selection
of abstracts for presentations will be decided by April 15. The
papers corresponding to the selected abstracts will need to be submitted
by May 30 and will be reviewed and critiqued by peers by July 15.
The symposium is currently planned to follow a scenario wherein
the papers chosen will be submitted in a specific sequence that
will illustrate guiding the family through home building in coastal
Florida. Twenty-three topic areas are available for papers and companies
may submit multiple abstracts in different subject matters.
