Connecticut
Adopts NFPA1 Uniform Fire Code and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code
The Connecticut Department of Public Safety has adopted the 2003
editions of NFPA 1, Uniform Fire Code (UFC) and NFPA 101 Life Safety
Code to protect the state's residents and property.
Other states and municipalities use the codes, which establish
the requirements necessary for the minimum fire safety and property
protection from hazards that stem from fire and explosions. Every
state in the union uses NFPA 101 and its adoption is not new for
Connecticut; however, this is the first time Connecticut has adopted
NFPA 1.
