Donald Francis McNabb Dies

Donald Francis McNabb, 80, of Mulberry, Fla., died August 26 in the Hospice House at Palm Terrace in Lakeland, Fla. He was the owner of Penn Allen Glass Co. in Allentown, Pa., and Berks Lehigh Glass in Allentown, from 1979 to 1995. He started work at Penn Allen Glass right after graduating from Allentown High School in 1948, and took ownership in 1979. He served as the president and chairman of the board until his retirement in 1995.

Active in the glass industry's professional associations, McNabb served as chairman of the National Glaziers Apprenticeship Fund from 1979 to 1987, treasurer and vice-president of the Flat Glass Marketing Association from 1988 to 1991, and on the board of directors of the National Glass Association from 1991 to 1993. He also served as the first president of the Glass Association of North America in Topeka, Kan., from 1994 to 1996.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. September 2 in Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 Hamilton St., Allentown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in McNabb's memory to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Altoona, PA 16602 or the Mulberry Public Library Building Fund, P.O. Box 707, Mulberry, FL 33860.
