Shaver Returns to USGlass Editorial Staff
Award
winning journalist Les Shaver has returned to work full time at
Key Communications Inc., publisher of USGlass magazine. He
will serve in the newly-created role of editorial director for most
of the company's publications, including USGlass.
Shaver worked at Key Communications from 1997-2000, acting as assistant
editor of USGlass during his time with the company. He also
served at editor of AGRR magazine and editor of WINDOW FILM
magazines during his tenure. He has continued writing as a contributing
editor to both AGRR and WINDOW FILM since moving on to work
for Army Times and the Special Libraries Association. He
has been a senior editor at Hanley Wood publications for the past
four years.
Shaver is a three-time recipient of ASBPE Awards for editorial
quality and was twice a Jessie H. Neal National Business Journalism
Award finalist.
"It's great to be back with the company that gave me my start,"
Shaver said.
"We are thrilled to have Les Shaver join our publications as editorial
director. His vast amount of experience, including that in the industry,
along with his award-winning writing capabilities, will be a tremendous
asset to our organization," said Tara Taffera, vice president of
editorial services at Key Communications Inc.
Shaver will provide overall editorial direction for all of Key's
publications except its award-winning Door & Window Manufacturer
(DWM) magazine, which Taffera herself directs. The move only
continues to strengthen a company that already offers the most editorial
depth in the industry.
"Both Debra Levy and Charles Cumpston each bring a 26-year perspective
to the magazines on which they work," says Taffera, who herself
has been with the organization for ten years. "Editor Ellen Giard
has been with USGlass for eight years, while both Samantha
Carpenter (editor of Shelter magazine) and Penny Stacey (editor
of WINDOW FILM magazine) have been active in the industries they
serve for more than five years. Our commitment to providing the
highest quality, strong editorial content for our readers and advertisers
is a top priority."
