September 2, 2010
Personnel moves around the industry continue this week, with two more recent changes. Bob Larson is joining Vitro America and Mike Nicklas has returned to J.E. Berkowitz L.P. (JEB).
Vitro America has hired Larson, previously with Texas Tempered Glass, to serve as assistant branch manager for its Houston facility. Larson had also worked for Craftsman Fabricated Glass prior to joining Texas Tempered. This is the second new-hire announcement for Vitro this week; the company also hired Max Perilstein as its new chief marketing officer.
“We have made major equipment purchases recently, including laminated and silkscreen lines, and Bob is tremendously talented and experienced guy,” says Perilstein. “His knowledge and work ethic is a great addition to our team. Overall we are taking the approach that you can never have enough good people and we really believe in investing in the future.”
Perilstein adds, “We know the economy is very difficult right now, but we are also long-term planning and are working hard to position this company for the future. It’s like our tag line, ‘Envision the Possibilities’ that’s how we are working toward the future. We have great people and products and are doing all we can to continue being a supplier of choice in the current and future markets.”
In other personnel news, Nicklas re-joined JEB on August 30, and is serving as the company’s new business development manager.
Last fall Nicklas had left JEB to serve as national sales manager for Tubelite Inc. Prior to that he had been JEB’s architectural sales and marketing manager.
