Kolbe's Glass Options Ensure Clear View, Desired
Protection
Wausau, Wis. -- Kolbe has announced that its LoE3-366 ("low E
cubed 366") glass is now available as an option for its windows
and doors. The specially formulated glass allows 66-percent visible
light transmittance, minimizing exterior reflectance to avoid heavy
bronze or smoke-colored tints that may darken a home's appearance
and view, according to the company.
LoE3-366 glass is certified by the National Fenestration Rating
Council and in compliance with ENERGY STARŪ guidelines. The company
says it reduces unwanted solar heat in the warm months and offers
superior insulating qualities in cooler months and blocks 95 percent
of the sun's damaging ultraviolet rays to protect furniture, carpets,
curtains, wall coverings and artwork from fading.
Each of Kolbe's glass options may be specified with an optional
protective, removable film which remains on the glass from the fabrication
floor, through shipment and installation, until construction clean
up has been completed. When requested, this film is applied to both
the interior and exterior surfaces of Kolbe's insulated glass units.
Homeowners need not worry about dust, splatters, sticky residues
or other distracting blemishes. Contractors no longer need to waste
time applying and later removing protective coverings. This removable
film contains no harmful chemicals or by-products, so it can be
disposed of with normal construction site debris. Because the film
is clear, contractors also avoid blocking the natural light needed
to complete their tasks.
