David Jaffe Named a Vice President of Guardian Industries

The Guardian Industries board of directors has named general counsel David Jaffe a vice president of the corporation, according to an August 1 release. He also holds the position of secretary of the privately held multinational company headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich.
“David is an internationally experienced executive who brings superior expertise to his positions at Guardian,” said Peter Walters, chairman, in the release. “He provides leadership in his areas of specialty, of course, but adds a profound understanding of business and the Guardian culture of success. We welcome this expansion of his scope.”
Jaffe joined Guardian in 1990 as assistant general counsel. In 1996, Jaffe
moved to Luxembourg to start the legal department’s European branch.
He returned to the United States in 2000 and led the company’s
corporate and international legal work. He was named general counsel
in July 2007. In 2010, he was named environmental officer, overseeing
environmental matters across the company.
Before joining Guardian, Jaffe was a partner at the Detroit law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn. He served as a law clerk to Justice William H. Rehnquist of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Jaffe received his B.A. in economics and J.D. from the University of Chicago. He lives in Birmingham, Michigan with his wife, Erica. They have two daughters, Adela and Mara.
