Sykesville, Md.-based Intellimar Inc., provider of turnkey security solutions ranging from security hardware to blast resistant doors and windows, was named the fastest growing company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and the second fastest growing security company in America on Inc. magazine's 23rd annual Inc. 500 list. The ranking is the magazine's list of the 500 fastest growing privately held businesses in America.

According to an article from the PR Newswire, Intellimar posted a four-year average annual revenue growth rate of 2,718 percent to make its debut on the 2004 Inc. 500 list. Intellimar ranks 34th overall among the country's fastest growing companies. Washington, D.C. is the top metropolitan area on the Inc. 500 list for the second year in a row with 29 companies.
