Legend Turns 80
Edwin Berkowitz, chairman of J.E. Berkowitz, L.P., a leading independent
architectural glass fabricator located in Westville, NJ, recently
celebrated his 80th birthday. Held on the campus of his alma mater,
the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, the party included
many family members, friends, and business associates.
Berkowitz has led the family-owned company for over 50 years. He
stepped down as president in the mid-1980s, when his son, Arthur
Berkowitz, took over the reins. Ed has remained a major part of
the company's long-range planning and still comes to work on a regular
basis. This year the octogenarian has been busy helping to plan
J.E. Berkowitz's move into a new 200,000-square-foot plant and offices
in Pedricktown, NJ.
The
layout of the buildings will incorporate some of the best practices
found at the major glass fabrication plants in Europe. Ed and Arthur
traveled last year to these sites to learn about these innovations
first-hand.

Berkowitz, L.P., and Michael Z. Nicklas, Architectural Sales and
Marketing Manager for J.E. Berkowitz, L.P.
