Glass Import Price Index Sees No Change in July

The United States Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the July 2007 import and export price indexes.

Overall, the U.S. import price index increased 1.5 percent in July, while export prices moved up 0.2 percent. The price index for imports from China rose 0.4 percent in July, the largest monthly increase since the index was first published in December 2003.

The import price index for glass and glassware held steady at 111.3 from June to July, while the export price index crept up 0.6-percent to 99.1 from June to July.
