IIMAK, PPG Join on Decorative Glass Efforts
PPG Industries in Pittsburgh has announced a marketing alliance
with IIMAK, Amherst, N.Y. The agreement authorizes PPG to promote
IIMAK's new, DecoTherm digital ceramic frit technology in combination
with Starphire ultra clear glass by PPG, as a decorative glass solution
for use in commercial applications across North America. IIMAK will
also promote Starphire glass as the exclusive "ultra-clear" glass
for decorative images.
PPG's architectural team will introduce the DecoTherm custom technology
to the design community. "PPGs innovative approach and extensive
reach in the marketplace makes them ideal for educating designers
on new products like DecoTherm digital ceramic frit that are complementary
to their glass offerings," says Scott Surma, national sales manager
for IIMAK. "The PPG team will show designers new, more creative
ways to utilize decorative glass in interior and exterior projects."
The DecoTherm digital ceramic frit joins ICD High-Performance Coatings,
Vancouver, Wash., a manufacturer of high-performance silicone coatings
for spandrel glass, in the PPG marketing alliance partner group.
"PPG continues to look for alliances involving innovative technologies
to provide the architectural and design communities with solutions
to their building needs," says Bob Krystyniak, PPG manager of strategic
alliances.
