Five Employees of Israel Berger & Associates
LLC Are Now LEED Accredited Professionals
July 24, 2009
Israel Berger, AIA, president and chief executive officer of Israel
Berger & Associates, LLC (IBA), announced that Giulia Alimonti RA,
Ed Madocks RA, Dumas Martinez and Farhan Mudasir have passed the
LEED v. 2 exam. Additionally, IBA has hired Jennifer Sze, who joins
the firm with a previously earned LEED AP credential.
"We are dedicated to the continued development of our credentials
in sustainable design, and will pursue the integrating of its practice
at all of our departments" says Berger. "Sustainable design goes
hand in hand with good design; the practice of both accomplishes
architectural excellence while balancing necessary economic and
practical realities of construction and maintenance of buildings."
Alimonti, Madocks and Martinez are all members of the restoration
division at IBA. The group's work objective varies greatly, and
ranges from conventional façade repairs or restoration to complete
re-building or replacement of the building enclosure.
Mudasir and Sze are both working in the new construction group,
and are often involved in construction site inspections as well
as in modeling new curtainwall technologies, overseeing mock-ups
of full-size exterior units and working with architects and manufacturers
on new exterior wall materials and new techniques for glass exteriors.
Sze recently earned a masters degree in design studies from Harvard
University Graduate School of Design, with a concentration in sustainable
design. She received her bachelor of architecture from the Irwin
S. Chanin School of Architecture at Cooper Union.
