Harmon Inc. Promotes Brian Buffa to Project Manager in Illinois

Specialty contractor Harmon Inc. has promoted Brian Buffa from project coordinator to project manager serving Chicagoland customers and their projects. In conjunction with Harmon's other locations in Illinois, the company provides new construction, repair and replacement, and renovation for the entire state's commercial glazing needs.

Among his current projects, Buffa and his Harmon colleagues are working with Pepper Construction and Eckenhoff Saunders Architects on the new Museum of Broadcast Communications' bold glass curtainwall facing State Street. The four-level, 70,000-square-foot building is expected to be the first public museum in the nation to earn a LEED® gold rating for energy-efficiency, when completed in Spring 2006.

Buffa also is anticipating a Spring 2006 completion with general contractor The Alter Group for the new Superior Ambulance Services building in Elmhurst, Ill. Designed by Soloman Cordwell Buenz & Associates, the 100,000-square-foot office building and garage features 30,000-square-feet of curtainwall and strip windows. Additionally, he currently is wrapping up the 4,000-square-foot curtainwall renovation and recladding of 430 North Michigan Avenue's office building, which house the National Association of REALTORS®.

A resident of Glen Ellyn, a Chicago suburb, Buffa joined Harmon three years ago after earning his bachelor's degree in construction from Bradley University's College of Engineering and Technology in Peoria, Illinois.
