HTL Announces Two New Hires

HTL LLC hired Jeff McGovern as its operations manager effective January 3, 2011.  McGovern has been working in the glazing industry for more than 30 years and prior to join­ing HTL held several senior management positions with Trainor Glass Company, including vice president.

 “Jeff’s many years of hands-on experience in managing major glazing projects will enhance the level of service HTL provides its customers,” CEO of HTL, says Vinu J. Abraham, PE, HTL chief executive officer. “His industry expertise will play a significant role in HTL’s strategy to broaden our current market reach.”

In his role, McGovern will be responsible for managing project constraints, scheduling, and quality control; managing communications and coordination with the client, and working closely with the entire HTL and client team from concept to completion.

“Jeff is a tremendous addition to our firm,” says Abraham. “His motivation and initiative has driven him to learn through years of hands-on, in-the-dirt experience, which is incredibly valuable in this industry. I’ve known Jeff for over 15 years and look forward to working with him as we continue to provide the industry’s top manufacturers with the highest quality of testing and evaluation services.”

In other news, This spring, HTL will open a Thermal Performance Laboratory in its newly expanded Georgia facility. Ryan Hedgepeth‏ has accepted the position of thermal/engineering specialist with the new laboratory. Hedgepeth, under the supervision of Lucas Turner, HTL’s lead thermal engineer, will perform thermal simulations in accordance with NFRC standards, operate thermal laboratory equipment, and assist with engineering needs such as evaluation reports and Miami-Dade NOA’s. Hedgepeth is a recent graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., where he earned a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering technology.

“It brings me great pleasure to announce these key additions to the HTL management and thermal/engineering team,” adds Abraham. “The expertise and management experience each of our new hires brings will help us better serve our customers.”
