
"Engineered Transparency" Conference
Scheduled for glasstec 2012

An "Engineered Transparency" conference again will be
a part of glasstec 2012 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The conference,
launched in 2010, will take place October 25-26 at the Congress
Center East/Ost at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center. glasstec
runs October 23-26.
The Engineered Transparency conference has been designed particularly
for an audience from the areas of research and development as well
as construction and implementation, including scientists, structural
engineers, planners/architects/designers, construction experts and
employees of construction authorities. The conference is being organized
jointly by Messe Düsseldorf and the technical universities
of Dresden and Darmstadt.
Topics to be covered include the latest developments and research
findings in glass construction and the latest developments and innovations
in façade technology as well as in solar technology for building
shells.
Among the conference's scheduled speakers are Michael Bell of Columbia
University; Till Schneider of schneider+schumacher Architects; Wolfgang
Schiel of schlaich, bergermann and partners, and Ing. Lothar Wondraczek
of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Institute
of Glass and Ceramics at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
