GlasWeld Hires Former Honda and GM Exec as General Manager
October 27, 2009
GlasWeld has hired Dennis Garbutt, who has experience with both
Honda and General Motors, as its general manager. Former company
president Mike Boyle stepped down earlier this year, and has moved
into a new role as president of Glass Mechanix.
Garbutt will be responsible for managing the company's daily operations,
organizational planning, and corporate strategic direction.
"As the leader in the glass restoration industry, we're committed
to developing a top-tier leadership team," says Thomas Spoo,
president of GlasWeld. "Dennis has more than 40 years in the
automotive industry and outstanding management skills that made
him the clear choice for the general manager role. His broad range
of experience will serve to provide leadership and vision to the
company as well as continuing the tradition of providing our customers
with the latest innovations in glass repair."
In addition to working for General Motors and Honda at the corporate
level, Garbutt co-owned a thriving Honda dealership in Colorado,
and served as a general manager for a large dealer group in California.
Garbutt holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Albion College.
