GPD India Calls for Conference Papers
August 1, 2012
Glass Performance Days (GPD) India has issued a call for conference
papers on the topic of "Energy Efficiency, Solar and Glass
Technology in Warm Climates." Papers for the conference are
due on October 12.
The event is scheduled for March 19-20, 2013, at the Bombay Convention
& Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India, and will be held in conjunction
with Glasspex India.
This year's GPD India will focus on energy efficiency in solar and
glass technologies as well as on renewable energies and their significance
for the glass industry, according to event organizers.
"It is true that investment in the production of renewable
energies is rising but in warmer regions such as India the necessity
for insulating buildings has not received the attention it deserves,"
says Brown Onduso, a representative of the GPD India Organizing
Committee. "Efficient energy management is subject to temperature
control through building insulation, if heating and/or air-conditioning
costs are not to increase. The Conference will focus on precisely
this topic since development in window and glass technology also
allows for control of this kind in warmer climates."
Glasspex India 2013 will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf in
cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf India and with the support
of such prominent associations as the All India Glass Manufacturers'
Federation (AIGMF) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA).
Messe Düsseldorf is renowned as the organizer of glasstec,
the world's largest trade fair for the glass sector, held every
two years in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Papers can be submitted online at http://www.gpd.fi/India
or can be emailed to Onduso at brown.onduso@gpd.fi.
