Four Named to GICC Hall of Recognition

The Glazing Industry Code Committee (GICC) has honored four former members of the organization by naming them to its Hall of Recognition. The Hall was created by GICC in late 2008 as a way to honor those in the glazing code arena who have helped make a positive difference. Named to the Hall were Don Belles, Peter Draghetti, Leo Karas and the late Don Vild.

Belles was the code consultant for GICC for more than ten years, beginning in the early 1990s. Draghetti was a past chairman and board of director for GICC, as was Leo Karas. Vild served as the GICC code consultant before his retirement.

"These men are truly legends in the glass and glazing industry," said Julie Schimmelpenningh of Solutia Inc. and current chair of GICC. "Each has been in the industry for over five decades and has contributed countless hours and efforts to make our industry as successful as possible."
