Glass Expo Midwest 2010 to Include Panel
Discussion on BIPV
February 2, 2010
Glass Expo Midwest 2010 is set to take place March 16-17 at
the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center in Schaumburg,
Ill., a suburb of Chicago. In addition to a trade show and numerous
networking opportunities, this year's event also offers a top-notch
educational and seminar program. Presenters will be discussing several
timely, important topics for the architectural glass industry.
Included in the seminar line-up will be a discussion of a topic
that is becoming increasingly important to the glass industry: building
integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). The panel session, titled "BIPV:
Challenges and Opportunities for the Contract Glazier" will
take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, and a number
of industry experts will take part in the panel, including Russ
Huffer, chief executive officer of Apogee Enterprises.
Panelists will discuss the benefits and challenges of BIPV as it
relates to the contract glazing industry. Huffer, whose company
has spent millions researching this new technology and how it fits
into a curtainwall system, will offer a no-nonsense look at BIPV
and what he has learned after 20 years of research-an important
issue of which the industry needs to be aware.
