GANA
Announces Mirrorlink.org Design Awards
The Topeka, Kan.-based
Glass Association of North America (GANA) has announced the creation
of a new design competition. Titled the "Mirrorlink.org Design
Awards," the competition focuses on the use of mirror as a
design element for the home and in commercial applications. The
awards are sponsored by the Mirror Division of GANA and are open
to any designer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
"Mirror provides the designer with so many options," said
GANA account executive Ashley Charest. "This competition will
seek to recognize those that use our product in an innovative and
creative way."
Entry forms were mailed out to the members of the American Society
of Interior Designers (ASID) and may be downloaded on the GANA Mirror
Division website, www.mirrorlink.org. Entries must be submitted
by October 1 of this year; with all entered designs being completed
between January 1 and October 1, 2004.
All entries will be judged by a panel of leading professors of interior
design from top institutions within the United States. Finalists
will be posted on the website in early 2005, with the winners being
announced at the ASID Convention and GlassBuild America in
March 2005.
"We expect to see many creative designs entered," said
Charest. "Mirror is making an enormous comeback as a design
element, and our intent is to show North America the design options
it brings."
