Henry Gorry of Guardian Industries announced during a meeting of the Glass Association of North America's Flat Glass Manufacturing Division yesterday that he recently retired, and would be passing along his position as chair of the group to the next person in line, Chris Miller of Pilkington North America Inc.

In addition, Gorry's spot on the GANA executive board will now be held by Kevin Olah, also of Guardian.

Gorry told the group that he intends to spend much of his retirement relaxing and biking.

One major point of business during the Flat Glass Manufacturing Division meeting was the possibility of creating a product category rule (PCR) for flat glass to be used in life cycle analyses. Mike Turnbull of Guardian Industries has been researching the effort.

"I really believe we need to proactively engage in writing our own PCR for life cycle analysis," he told the group.
