International is nearing completion of ASTM WK22334, a working standard
addressing glass used in furniture, according to a report by Urmilla
Sowell, technical director for the Glass Association of North America
(GANA). Sowell made the report during a meeting of the association's
Tempering Division Technical Committee, held as part of the group's
annual conference being held this week in Sarasota, Fla.
The standard, "New Specification for Consumer Safety for Glass
Furniture," is currently being balloted by ASTM, she said.
