Knickerbocker Named Chair of GANA Committee
March 3, 2011

The Glass Association of North America (GANA) announced that Chuck Knickerbocker of Technical Glass Products (TGP) is the new chair of the BEC Division Technical Committee.  Knickerbocker will lead the Committee at the upcoming BEC Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas March 27-29 at the Paris Resort and Casino.

“The building envelope is receiving more scrutiny than ever, especially with the push for energy efficiency,” says Knickerbocker. “Glazing is always going to be a key part of the envelope, and our industry has a lot of good things to say about new systems and technologies. I’m looking forward to working with the BEC Technical Committee members and others in GANA to help educate contractors on the latest code developments, testing standards, materials and installation practices.”

Knickerbocker is the curtainwall manager for TGP, a supplier of fire-rated glass and framing systems, along with specialty architectural glazing products. With 30 years of curtainwall experience, he has worked with numerous architects, building owners and subcontractors from development of schematic design through installation.

Prior to joining TGP, Knickerbocker was a senior consultant at Curtain Wall Design and Consulting in Dallas. His accomplishments include leading the design, engineering and shop and fabrication drawings for eight custom wall systems in the Clinton Presidential Library, along with work on condos, office buildings and multiple other domestic and international projects. He also led numerous curtainwall projects while working for Harmon LTD, Wausau Metals Corporation and others.

Knickerbocker is an active member of GANA and currently serves on the Building Information Modeling Committee. His past work includes contributing to the preparation of the GANA Sealant Manual and Blueprint Reading and Labor Estimating Course study guide.
