GANA Educational Foundation Accepting Scholarship
Applications
for 2010
January 26, 2010
The Glass Association of North America (GANA) Educational Foundation
announced today it is accepting applications for its 2010 scholarships.
In addition to the minimum five $1,000 scholarships it will award
to undergrads, the Foundation is also offering a new Graduate scholarship
of $2,500. Since the beginning of the effort, the Foundation has
awarded 16 scholarships to students studying in the fields of architecture,
construction management or engineering. The Graduate Scholarship
also includes business students. This marks the third year of the
program.
"GANA created this program in 2006 as a way to give back to
the industry," says Bill Yanek, GANA executive vice president.
"By awarding students who will become an integral part of our
industry, we hope to encourage the increased usage of glass in commercial
architecture."
Funding from the program includes proceeds from GANA's BEC Conference
for the past several years. The next BEC Conference will be held
March 27-29 at the Paris Las Vegas Resort in Las Vegas.
Deadline for scholarship applications is April 1, 2010.
