GANA Educational Foundation Soliciting Donations
for Greenhouse Gas Study
May 4, 2009
The Glass Association of North America (GANA) Educational Foundation
has announced it is soliciting donations to fund an in-depth study
on high-performance glazing's impact in the United States. This
will be the first study funded by the charitable organization.
"Currently, the glazing industry must rely upon Energy Information
Agency (EIA) historical surveys to glean data describing the energy
impact of high-performance glazing," said Bill Yanek, GANA
executive vice president. "The EIA approach provides useful
historical data, but does not predict the impact of high-performance
glazing on energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. GANA is proposing
a study that would produce such a prediction."
Current donors for the proposed study include Guardian Industries
Corp., Prelco Inc., Viracon and Vitro America.
