GANA
Announces 2005 BEC Conference; Bartoe Re-Elected Tempering Division
Chair
The Glass Association
of North America (GANA) has announced the dates and location for
its eighth annual Building Envelope Contractors (BEC) Conference.
The conference will take place February 20-22, 2005 at the Monte
Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Conference and hotel reservations will be made through the GANA
office.
In other GANA news, the association's tempering division has re-elected
Renald (Ren) Bartoe of Vesuvius McDanel as chairperson. Bartoe was
first elected to the position at Glass Week 2002, and will
continue his next two-year term starting at Glass Week 2004.
"I am both honored and flattered by the division's support
in re-electing me as chairperson of the tempering division of GANA,"
said Bartoe. "We currently have two committees and three subcommittees,
addressing issues of importance to the industry. The hard-working
members of these committees and their unyielding commitment are
the backbone of our division, and I am proud to be associated with
them. I look forward to contributing to the progress of those groups
and to the tempering division of GANA."
Bartoe has more than 27 years experience in the glass industry.
He is involved with GANA's engineering and standards committee,
and chairs the roll wave subcommittee. He has a bachelor's degree
in biochemistry from Pennsylvania State University, and has held
sales, technical and management positions with Vesuvius. He presently
manages the company's Zyarock® fused silica refractory product
line for glass metallurgy and solar energy in the Americas.
