Crystal Welcomes HUD and EDC VIPs
September 20, 2011
Crystal Window & Door Systems of Flushing, N.Y., recently hosted
Adolfo Carrión, Jr., administrator of Region II (N.Y. and
N.J.) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
and Seth Pinsky president of the New York City Economic Development
Corporation (EDC).
On the afternoon of August 23, Carrión, along with his staff
visited Crystal Windows. He met with Crystal president Thomas Chen
and executive vice president Steve Chen. The HUD guests toured the
factory to witness the fabrication of the company's energy-efficient
aluminum and vinyl windows.
"Many Crystal products are used in HUD financed and subsidized
residential housing properties throughout the nation," Chen
says. "This was a great chance for Mr. Carrion to see the how
our windows and doors can contribute to the quality and energy efficiency
of HUD properties."
The following morning, Chen hosted Pinsky. After meeting with Crystal
executives, Pinsky and his staff toured the 200,000-square-foot
manufacturing facility. "Crystal is definitely an EDC success
story," Chen says. "Ten years ago, EDC initiatives helped
us to remain a New York City manufacturer and locate our factory
and headquarters building in the College Point Corporate Park, one
of the industrial/commercial districts administered by EDC."
