Crystal Window & Door Systems in Flushing, N.Y., marked the
completion of 20 years in operation on May 15, 2010. The company
was started two decades ago by Taiwanese-American immigrant Thomas
Chen with a small Queens, N.Y., operation fabricating aluminum windows
for the local community. Crystal today has production facilities
in New York, Chicago and Missouri, vertically integrated operations,
a national sales and distribution network, and international activities.
The company has also expanded beyond windows to establish operations
in building products such as fencing, solar panels and aluminum
extrusion and finishing.
Crystal's 20-year anniversary has been formally recognized with
special citations from the Queens Borough President, the New York
State Senate, the New York City Mayor and the US House of Representatives.
According to a company announcement, Queens Borough President Helen
Marshall, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Congressman
Gary Ackerman further proclaimed May 15, 2010 as Crystal Windows
Day in the Borough of Queens, the City of New York, and the entire
nation, respectively.
