Columbia University and Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™ Schedule Stuttgart Think Tank
April 29, 2011
On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators and industry experts will gather at the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design in Stuttgart, Germany, for a Think Tank titled “Manufacturing Change.” This will be the fifth in a series of international Think Tanks that have been organized by the Columbia Building Intelligence Project (C-BIP) of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP). The CIB-P program, which is supported by Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™, will consist of four 60-minute sessions, each including a series of short presentations followed by roundtable discussions.
Organizers say the list of those participating in the event continues to expand, with many architects, engineers, corporations and universities involved. Among those taking part is Edwin B. (Ted) Hathaway, chief executive officer of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™.
The event, which runs from 1-5:30 p.m., is open to the public and organizers say is intended to create a conversation that is collaborative at its core while simultaneously pushing today’s industry leaders to think differently and transform how the next generation of professionals are educated. A reception from 5:30-7 p.m. follows the Think Tank.
Additional information is available through the C-BIP website.
