CHINA – Xinyi Glass Ignites Furnace for Trial Run of Third Float Glass Line at Jiangmen Production Complex

Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited announced that it ignited the furnace for a trial run of its third float glass production line at Jiangmen production complex in Guangdong Province, China. The company says the line has a daily melting capacity of 900 tons and is expected to commence commercial production in July this year.
According to the announcement, Xinyi Glass expanding its production capacity of float glass in order to meet the demand for construction glass from property projects managed by the Chinese government and private developers as well as automobile glass from the global market. The company says the additional capacity is aimed to address its business expansion in the three major economic zones in China. The Group plans to increase the number of high quality float glass production lines in China to a total of 14 within this year, which it says will increase its annual melting capacity to 2.61 million tons, a surge of 75 percent compared with 2010.
Also, in the third quarter of this year, the company says its Jiangmen production complex will be converted to use natural gas as a key fuel. By then, the float glass and solar glass production lines at the group’s production complexes will be fuelled by natural gas to attain a higher level of energy and cost efficiency.
