Bureau
of Labor Statistics Releases April Import-Export Price Index
The U.S. Import Price Index increased 1.8 percent in April, the
Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor has reported.
The rise followed a 2.9 percent increase in March. Export prices
also increased in April, rising 0.3 percent after increasing at
least 1.0 percent in each of the previous three months.
The report showed a -0.4 percent change for glass imports in the
last month, and a 2.3 percent change since this time last year.
For exports, glass has seen only a 0.3 percent change since March,
and a 3.2 percent increase since April 2007.
