Brunette to Represent Fire and Safety-Rated Glass Industry at Safety Symposium

Len Brunette, president of Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America, has been chosen as a non-partisan representative of the fire and safety-rated glazing industry at a safety-glazing symposium to be held September 14, 2006. The symposium will address the topic of glass safety in schools.

Among other subjects, Len will address changes in fire-rated glazing and the hazards that radiant heat could pose.

In addition, Len will be honored with an award of recognition as a life safety advocate from Advocates for Safe Glass, a non-profit organization founded Greg Abel. Also slated for recognition are United States Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR), United States Congressman Peter DeFazio (D-OR), United States Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), and Oregon State Senator Vicki Walker (D-OR).

"Len has been a major supporter of our organization since its inception," says Greg Abel, chairman and founder of Advocates for Safe Glass. "His dedication and determination has been an inspiration."
