Brunette
to Represent Fire and Safety-Rated Glass Industry at Safety Symposium
Len Brunette, president of Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America,
has been chosen as a non-partisan representative of the fire and
safety-rated glazing industry at a safety-glazing symposium to be
held September 14, 2006. The symposium will address the topic of
glass safety in schools.
Among other subjects, Len will address changes in fire-rated glazing
and the hazards that radiant heat could pose.
In addition, Len will be honored with an award of recognition
as a life safety advocate from Advocates for Safe Glass, a non-profit
organization founded Greg Abel. Also slated for recognition are
United States Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR), United States Congressman
Peter DeFazio (D-OR), United States Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA),
and Oregon State Senator Vicki Walker (D-OR).
"Len has been a major supporter of our organization since its inception,"
says Greg Abel, chairman and founder of Advocates for Safe Glass.
"His dedication and determination has been an inspiration."
