Billco Executive Launches New Software Company

By Ellen Giard

Commercial and residential glass companies now have a new choice when it comes to software providers. Billco Manufacturing sales manager Phil Plant and a silent partner launched a new company called HP3 Software Inc. as a result of purchasing the Billco batchless glass processing patent. The new company, which is headquartered in Sewickley, Pa., has 15 employees. HP3 will provide software for order entry, batchless glass optimization, batchless furnace optimization, lean manufacturing control process optimization with bar coding and plant-wide work piece tracking. The software products can be used on any manufacturer's equipment lines.

"Because of HP3's batchless glass processing technologies and patent protection, we have the advantage of implementing true lean manufacturing practices in the offices and plant floors," said Plant, who serves as president of the company. "HP3 wants to earn the reputation of having the best software products and, above all else, number one in customer support."
