The Building Envelope Contractors (BEC) Technical Division, a part of the Glass Association of North America (GANA), held a meeting on Sunday, March 18, as the annual BEC Conference got underway at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

The group, chaired by Chuck Knickerbocker of Technical Glass Products (TPG), is in the process of finalizing several documents, including the Structural Silicone Guidelines Glass Informational Bulletin (GIB), and currently is awaiting quorum on the vote.

"We'll keep trying," said Urmilla Sowell, technical director for GANA. The group's GIB on the Key Elements of Fenestration Systems currently is at the GANA board level for a vote. "I fully expect this to be published in the next month," added Sowell.

The group also had a discussion about growing involvement in the division. "I'd like to challenge each of the companies here to bring someone new each time to this meeting," suggested Greg Carney of C.G. Carney Associates Inc., a consultant to GANA. "Help others grow, and grow in the industry."

The BEC Conference continues through tomorrow, March 20. Stay tuned to www.USGNN.com™ for the latest news and updates from the event.
