Arch Acquires Trulite Industries
Arch Aluminum & Glass Co. Inc. of Tamarac, Fla., acquired
Trulite Industries Ltd., a 32-year old glass fabricator based in
Mississauga, Ontario. Trulite specializes in large-scale project
work including insulating, tempered, spandrel and screen-printed
glass. The company is also a distributor of flat glass products.
Some of Trulite's work can be seen on projects such as Heinz Field
(home of the Pittsburgh Steelers), The Palace of Auburn Hills (home
of the Detroit Pistons), the Boston Convention Center, the Toronto
Airport and Casino Niagara.
The acquisition of Trulite continues Arch's geographic growth,
and is its first facility in Canada.
"We are excited about Trulite joining the family; the company's
culture is in synergy with ours and their reputation in the industry
is top notch. In addition, this acquisition allows Arch to move
into new areas, and offer opportunities [for customers] to get supplies
from a true single source," said Arch president and CEO Leon
Silverstein.
"Being with Arch will allow us to continue to offer our customers
the best service and quality in the industry," said Gerry Duffy,
president of Trulite. "In addition, the resources that Arch
brings will surely benefit us and ensure that we will always be
on the cutting edge of the industry," said Duffy. Duffy and
his management team will all remain in place with the company. Trulite
CEO and one of the original founders, Peter Alexander, will also
stay on in a consulting role.
"We are pleased that Peter and Gerry, along with the rest
of the Trulite staff, will still be involved and we are confident
that our backgrounds and philosophies are similar enough to ensure
that everything will continue to run smoothly," Silverstein
added.
