Alu-Pro to Raise Prices of Aluminum Spacer Bars
February 1, 2011

Alu-Pro, a producer of aluminum spacer bars for insulating glass units, announced it plans to increase the prices for its entire product range throughout the international markets. The company says this price increase is a result of the continually rising cost of the raw material on the London Metal Exchange. It adds that another factor contributing to the price rise is pressure from lamination prices and the significant growth in energy and shipping costs.

The price hikes, which may be as much as 15 percent, will take effect in March 2011.

The Alu-Pro plants operating in Italy, Denmark, Poland and Russia produce almost 400
million linear meters of aluminum decorative and spacer bars for insulating glass units.
