Window
and Sliding Door Anchorage Analysis Is Latest Guideline Offered
by AAMA
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has
introduced the Voluntary Guideline for Engineering Analysis of
Window and Sliding Glass Door Anchorage Systems. The guideline
confirms minimum anchorage requirements for windows and sliding
glass door systems, which are certified in accordance with AAMA/WDMA/CSA
101/I.S. 2/A440-05 and the earlier 1997 standard, according to AAMA.
"This new 2501-06 document provides architects, specifiers and
code officials with industry-approved guidelines that outline the
minimum requirements for structural analysis and appropriate safety
factors recommended for the installed product," noted Scott Warner,
executive vice president of Architectural Testing, Inc. and chairperson
of the AAMA Fenestration Anchorage Task Group, which developed the
document.
The Voluntary Guideline for Engineering Analysis of Window
and Sliding Glass Door Anchorage Systems is available through
download, CD or paper copy at a cost of $8.00 for non-members and
$4.00 for members. CLICK
