Adds New Work Item Involving Human Impact on Commercial Skylights
to Website
ASTM International, originally known as the American Society for
Testing and Materials (ASTM), has added a new work item involving
human impact on commercial skylights to its website.
The goal of the new work item is to "develop, formulate and improve
standard methods of tests that simulate falls of persons onto skylights
(and smoke vents) for human impact resistance under natural conditions
of exposure and provide information for code and standards officials
on which performance standards can be established."
This standard is being developed by the E06.51 subcommittee, and
is being monitored by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association
(AAMA) technical staff.
