Locals Report that British Columbia's Advanced Glazing Systems Has Closed
April 5, 2011
USGNN.com™ has learned that Advanced Glazing Systems (AGS) in British Columbia is the most recent North American contract glazier affected by the struggling commercial construction market. Industry sources report that the company and its subsidiary Landmark Glass were placed into receivership at the end of last month.
According to one source who preferred not to be identified in print “Details are still sketchy but it sounds like a bank forced the closure. They recently downsized their operation with a move to a smaller location. AGS is a large-scale, unitized curtainwall fabricator that has been stung by a slow economy and the participation of global giants such as Yuanda Aluminum in the Vancouver market.”
AGS was one of the Western Canada’s largest contract glaziers, having worked on several high-profile projects in Vancouver such as the Shangri La, Convention Centre, Shaw Tower and Pan Pacific.
At press time USGNN.com had not been able to reach any representatives of Advanced Glazing Systems/Landmark Glass for comment. Stay tuned for news updates as they are made available
