 
AGGA, AWA to Host AUSFENEX 2011; U.S.
Speakers to Present

The
Australian Glass and Glazing Association (AGGA) and the Australian
Window Association (AWA) are combining resources this year to host
their first joint conference, AUSFENEX 2011, September 21-23, at
Jupiter's Casino on Australia's Gold Coast. The program
will offer both educational and practical sessions, including presentations
from a number of U.S. glass industry representatives.
Julia Schimmelpenningh, global architectural applications manager,
advanced interlayers, Solutia Inc., will lead a session titled "Glass
& Windows - A World of Possibilities." In addition, she
also will lead one of the breakout sessions at the event. The breakout
sessions will focus on energy and sustainability, standards and
regulations and operations.
Bill Lingnell, with Lingnell Consulting Services, also will make
a presentation. In his session he will discuss "Quality Control
Programs & Systems."
Jorma Vitkala, chairman of the Glass Performance Days organizing
committee, Finland, will lead the opening plenary session on "Worldwide
Glass & Window Trends." This session is scheduled to take
place Thursday, September 22 at 9:45 a.m.
The conference program also will include a number of other informative
sessions, such as on cyclones and windows; an Australian economic
report and an Australian glass market report; as well as an event
debate titled, "The Good, the Bad, and the Undecided ... Is
a Carbon Tax Right for Industry?"
In addition, the program includes a variety of social and networking
opportunities, including an exhibitor showcase, receptions, dinners
and more.
