AEC Elects New Vice Chairman

Duncan Crowdis, president of Bonnell Aluminum in Newnan, Ga., has
been elected vice chairman of the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC).
Crowdis joins three other members of the AEC board of directors
executive committee: chairman Thomas Schabel, chief executive officer
of Alexandria Extrusion Company in Alexandria, Minn.; at-large member
Curt Rone, chief financial officer of the Loxcreen Company in West
Columbia, S.C.; and immediate past chairman Craig Werner, president
of Werner Extrusion Solutions in Lake Forest, Ill.
Crowdis has been on the AEC board of directors and held the position
of extruder director since 2006. Traditionally, the vice chairman
moves forward to the position of AEC chairman after serving a two-year
term.
Crowdis, a 35-year veteran of the aluminum industry has held various
positions, including those in technical, operations, marketing,
sales and general management. He first became involved in the extrusion
business in 1990 as the general manager for the Canadian Central
Region of Alcan Aluminum and was part of the acquisition of several
facilities from Alcan that formed Exal Aluminum Inc. in 1994. He
joined Bonnell Aluminum in 1998 through the acquisition of Exal
Aluminum Inc., and became the president and general manager for
the company in June 2005 and vice president of Tredegar Corporation,
Bonnell Aluminum's parent company, in January 2009.
