Steve Garvey to Serve as Opening Speaker at AEC Annual Meeting

At the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) 55th annual meeting, taking place March 11-13 at the Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, Calif., attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a number of seminars and presentations.

Included in the program are motivational and industry speakers, educational sessions council updates, networking opportunities and more.

As part of the meeting, Steve Garvey, former Los Angeles Dodger, will serve as the opening speaker. Garvey, who helped the Dodgers win the 1981 World Series, will use his leadership ability from the playing field and apply it to running a successful business.

Another speaker will be Carmine Nappi, director of industry analysis for Alcan Inc., will talk about opportunities and challenges in the global aluminum extrusion market.

Talking about the "Rise, Fall and Rise of Harley-Davidson," will be Ken Schmidt, former director of communications for Harley-Davidson.

Also speaking will be Allen Oppenheimer, founder and president of A.M. Oppenheimer Inc., who will lead the presentation, "What is Your Business Worth?" The session is designed to offer owners a step-by-step approach to learning how to value and package their businesses, maximize full potential, increase sales through marketing and market research and more.

In addition to the various speakers and sessions, receptions, golf and tennis tournaments and sightseeing tours will also be offered.
